How to Add a Product in WooCommerce

Introduction Welcome! In this guide, you’ll learn how to add a new product to your WooCommerce store. We’ll keep things simple and use everyday language so you can follow along even if you’re new to WordPress or online stores.

1. Log In to Your Website

1. Open your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).

2. Go to your website’s login page. This is usually yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.

3. Enter your Username and Password, then click Log In.

Tip: If you forget your password, click Lost your password? and follow the steps to reset it.

2. Go to the Products Section

1. Once logged in, look at the left-hand menu.

2. Find and click Products.

3. Click "Add New"

1. At the top of the Products page, click the Add New button.

2. You will see a blank product form where you can enter all the details for your new item.

4. Enter Your Product Title and Description

• Product Name: At the top, type the name of your product (for example, "Blue Cotton T-Shirt").

• Description: In the big text box below, write a detailed description. Describe what the product is, its features, and why customers will love it.

Tip: Keep it clear and friendly. Think about what you would like to know if you were buying.

5. Set the Price and Inventory

1. Scroll down to the Product Data box (usually in the middle of the screen).

2. Under General:

   • Regular Price: Enter how much the product costs.

   • Sale Price (optional): Enter a discounted price, if you want to run a sale.

3. Click the Inventory tab:

   • SKU: A unique code for your product (you can skip this if you don’t use SKUs).

   • Stock Status: Choose In Stock or Out of Stock.

Tip: If you have many products and want WooCommerce to track stock levels automatically, enter a number in Stock quantity.

6. Add Product Images

1. On the right side of the screen, find Product Image.

2. Click Set product image.

3. Choose an image from your Media Library or upload a new one from your computer.

4. Click Set product image to confirm.

5. (Optional) Under Product gallery, click Add product gallery images to upload extra photos.

7. Choose Categories and Tags

1. In the right column, find Product categories. Check the boxes for categories that fit your product (for example, "T-Shirts").

2. Below that, find Product tags. Type in keywords like "cotton, blue, summer" separated by commas.

Tip: Categories help customers find products; tags help with search and organization.

8. Publish Your Product

1. When you’re happy with all the details, look at the right-hand column.

2. Click the blue Publish button.

3. Wait a moment. The button will change to Update once your product is live.

Success! Your new product is now visible on your online store.
