How to Edit an Existing Page with Elementor in WordPress

Introduction Elementor is a powerful drag‑and‑drop page builder that makes designing and updating your site easy. In this guide, you’ll learn how to open an existing page with Elementor, make edits to text, images, and layout, and save your changes—all in simple steps with screenshot placeholders.


1. Log In to Your WordPress Dashboard

  1. Open your browser and go to yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.

  2. Enter your Username and Password, then click Log In.


2. Navigate to the Pages Section

  1. In the left‑hand menu, click Pages > All Pages.

  2. Locate the page you want to edit.

  3. Hover over its title and click Edit with Elementor.


3. Understand the Elementor Interface

  1. The Elementor canvas will load in full‑screen mode.

  2. On the left, you’ll see the Widget Panel with all elements (text, headings, images, etc.).

  3. On the right is your Live Preview of the page.

  4. At the bottom, use the Navigator (icon with layers) to quickly jump to any section.


4. Edit Text and Headings

  1. In the Live Preview, click on any text or heading you wish to change.

  2. The Widget Panel will switch to the Content tab for that widget.

  3. Edit the text directly in the Text Editor field.

  4. To style (font size, color), click the Style tab.

  1. Click on an existing image in the Live Preview.

  2. In the Widget Panel, under Image, click Choose Image.

  3. Upload a new image or select one from the Media Library.

  4. Click Insert Media.

  5. Adjust image size, alignment, and style under the Style tab.


6. Modify Layout and Sections

  1. To edit a section or column, hover over its border until you see the blue outline.

  2. Click the six‑dots icon for sections or column handle for columns.

  3. In the Layout tab, adjust Width, Height, Padding, and Margin.

  4. Use the Advanced tab for custom CSS, motion effects, and responsiveness.


7. Add New Widgets or Sections

  1. Drag a widget (e.g., Button, Heading, Video) from the Widget Panel and drop it onto any section.

  2. Release to place the widget; it will open its Content settings immediately.

  3. Customize as needed, then style it under the Style tab.


8. Preview and Responsive Mode

  1. Click the eye icon at the bottom to Preview Changes in a new tab.

  2. To check mobile/tablet views, click the Responsive Mode icon (monitor/tablet/phone) in the bottom panel.

  3. Switch between Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile and adjust element settings for each device.


9. Save and Publish Your Changes

  1. Once you’re happy with edits, click the green Update button in the bottom panel.

  2. Wait for the “Page updated successfully” message.

  3. Visit the front‑end of your site to confirm the changes are live.
