How to Edit or Delete an Existing Page or Post in WordPress

1. Log In to Your Dashboard

  1. Open your browser and go to yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.

  2. Enter your Username and Password, then click Log In.


2. Find the Page or Post You Want to Edit or Delete

  1. In the left-hand menu, choose Pages (for pages) or Posts (for blog posts).

  2. Click All Pages or All Posts to view the full list.


3. Edit a Page or Post

  1. Hover your mouse over the title of the item you want to change.

  2. Click Edit under its title to open the editor.

  3. Make your changes:

    • Update text, add/remove blocks (Paragraph, Image, Heading, etc.).

    • Change the title in the Add title field.

    • Adjust settings in the right sidebar (Categories, Tags for posts; Template, Parent for pages).

  4. Click Update (pages) or Publish/Update (posts) in the top-right corner to save.


4. Quick Edit (Fast Changes)

  1. On the All Pages or All Posts list, hover over an item title.

  2. Click Quick Edit.

  3. Modify fields directly in the list view:

    • Change Title, Slug, Date, Parent (pages), Password protect, Privacy.

    • Change Categories, Tags, Status (draft/published), Allow comments (posts).

  4. Click Update to save your quick edits.


5. Delete a Page or Post

  1. On the All Pages or All Posts list, hover over the item you want to remove.

  2. Click Trash under its title. The item moves to the Trash folder.

  3. To permanently delete, click Trash at the top of the list, hover the item, and click Delete Permanently.

Tip: Restoring from Trash is easy—just click Restore under the title.


6. Restore or Permanently Remove from Trash

  1. Click the Trash link above the list to view trashed items.

  2. Hover over an item and choose Restore to bring it back, or Delete Permanently to remove it forever.
