Introduction Creating pages (like "About Us" or "Contact") is one of the first things you’ll do in WordPress. This guide will walk you through adding a new page, entering content, and publishing it—all in easy steps with screenshot placeholders.
1. Log In to Your Dashboard
Open your browser and go to
yourwebsite.com/wp-admin
.Enter your Username and Password, then click Log In.
2. Navigate to the Pages Section
In the left-hand menu, click Pages.
Click Add New at the top.
3. Enter Your Page Title and Content
Click in the Add title field and type the page title (e.g., "About Us").
In the Content area, add text, images, or media blocks:
Click the + icon to add a block (Paragraph, Heading, Image, etc.).
Type your text or upload/select an image.
4. Configure Page Settings
In the right sidebar, ensure the Document tab is selected.
Permalink: Click to edit the URL slug if needed.
Featured Image: Click Set featured image to choose an image for page previews.
Page Attributes (optional):
Template: Select a custom template if your theme offers one.
Parent: Choose a parent page to nest this page.
Order: Enter a number to change the page’s menu order.
5. Save and Preview Your Page
Click Save draft to save without publishing.
Click Preview and choose Preview in new tab to see how it looks.
6. Publish Your Page
When you’re ready, click the blue Publish button.
Confirm by clicking Publish again in the popup.
Wait a moment—your new page is now live on your site.
7. Add the Page to Your Menu (Optional)
Go to Appearance > Menus in the left menu.
Under Pages, find your new page, check the box, and click Add to Menu.
Drag to position it, then click Save Menu.
